Program Design
TPIT is an intensive one-year program that encompasses all major aspects of the Pilates system and apparatus including Reformer, Spine Corrector, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Cadillac and more. The program is comprised of in-person workshops -- weekend-long courses of study and hands-on training. Students accumulate a total of 600 self-study hours made up of critical observation, guided practice and apprentice teaching. Tests are administered at regular intervals to reinforce learning, knowledge and skills and review areas as needed to ensure success. Upon successful completion, students receive their Certificate of Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training.
Program Format
TPIT is a five-phase program that builds from the ground up. Each phase is comprised of two (2) three-day workshops for a total of ten workshops. Outside of these workshops, students will continue their studies by accumulating a total of 600 self-study hours for phases 2-5, divided equally among observation, personal practice and student teaching.
Exams are given after the student has completed each phase of the program once the student has satisfied all self-study hour requirements for the phase. The final 600-hour exam must be taken within three (3) months of successfully completing all five phases and exams.
Workshops must be attended in sequential order to successfully complete the Pilates teacher training program. Foundational workshops explore the foundations of the Pilates system and the profession as well as in-depth study of Pilates anatomy. System workshops cover exercises of the original system and variations as well as any contraindications and modifications for physical limitations.
Workshops begin on Friday afternoons and resume for full-day sessions on Saturdays and Sundays with sufficient breaks throughout.
Partially Trained?
Bridge with Us
Many programs, particularly contemporary training programs, charge separate and substantial tuition for each level and/or workshop, a business model designed to generate more revenue than well-trained instructors. TrulyPilates is a single track comprehensive program with transparent costs. Our reason is simple: partial training leads to incomplete training. Our tuition reflects our mission and encourages successful completion.
We welcome individuals with limited or partial training who have the drive and dedication to attain comprehensive knowledge and experience in authentic Pilates. Credit for prior self-practice work is available and schedule and tuition information can be found under "Course Info" tab above.
